CHRISTOPHER J. BAIONE is a founding partner of Pitta & Baione LLP. Mr. Baione has devoted his entire professional legal career solely to representing victims of the 9/11 terror attacks under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.
Mr. Baione acts as firm liaison to the Department of Justice, performs client intake, determines eligibility, establishes and proves damages, develops strategies to maximize awards, appears at evidentiary hearings, forecasts economic losses, reviews VCF loss calculations, and argues appeals for increased compensation.
Recognizing his comprehensive knowledge of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act complex claims process, the Department of Justice has consulted with Mr. Baione with regard to identifying and remediating deficiencies of the system. Mr. Baione regularly provides the Department of Justice with suggestions and advice to expedite and refine the claims process for his clients.
Mr. Baione graduated magna cum laude in cursu honorum from the Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University. While attending college, he interned at Holland & Knight LLP under the direction and mentorship of Frank G. Sinatra, a senior counsel in the field of government relations. Mr. Baione earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law where he was a Presidential Scholar and Public Interest Fellow. During law school, Mr. Baione interned with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office and New York State Supreme Court Justice Anthony J. Cutrona of the Mental Hygiene Court.
